Over 20 years ago Don started his journey of recovery. He has raised his son, changed careers and gone back to school. Don realizes that if something hadn’t intervened in his life none of this would have been possible, thus giving him a life “BEYOND” his wildest dreams.
As a father, it has always been important for Don to be able to provide a loving and stable environment for his son. With the help of recovery, community resources and many individuals along the way this has become a reality.
Don’s initial career change led him working with “at risk youth” in Vancouver. Through meeting these individuals where they were are at and offering compassion, empathy and listening Don was able to connect and help them make positive changes.
After graduating from Douglas College with his diploma in Child and Youth Care Counselling Don’s career path shifted slightly. He began working at a highly successful men’s treatment center in the lower mainland for over 13 years. It was here that his passion to work with families flourished. He was able to become and maintains his certification as an Addiction Counsellor with the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF). He was trained in and facilitated group counselling. He also facilitated an educational group for families. During this time Don had the honour to be part of and watch men and their families embrace recovery, reconnect and learn to grow together.

If you are looking for someone to help a loved one seek help through intervention look no further. Don and Beyond Interventions offer great services. We used Don for intervention and it worked. Don is there for you every step of the way. From meeting with everyone who will attend the intervention, to practice intervention rounds, to the actual intervention, and then finally checking in afterward and providing follow up. Don is great and I could not imagine having anyone else help us help our loved one. We had been trying to get our loved one into rehab for years and with Don’s help, they finally went and are hopefully on their way to recovery and a better life where they can make their lives everything they ever wanted sober and clean.
